I work with couples who know something needs to change, and want steady support to rebuild trust, restore connection, and move forward with clarity.

In person couples counselling is available in McCrae on the Mornington Peninsula, and Melbourne based couples often choose Online Couples Counselling or my immersive Couples Counselling Retreat for flexible, focussed support.

Specialist in Couples Counselling

If your relationship feels strained, stuck, or harder than it used to be, it’s okay to reach out for support, you don’t have to keep trying to work it out on your own.

Many couples reach out to me when conversations keep spiralling into arguments and conflict, or when things feel tense or shut down between you both.

For some, it’s because trust has been shaken – sometimes by betrayal or infidelity. Others get in touch because they can feel a growing emotional distance, and they don’t want things to drift further apart.

With over 25 years of counselling experience, including 9 years specialising in couples counselling, I’ve supported hundreds of couples to slow things down, make sense of what’s really going on, and begin repairing their relationship in practical, meaningful ways.

With Level 3 training in the Gottman Method and Relational Life Therapy (RLT), I bring evidence-based approaches that help couples rebuild trust, improve communication, and reconnect, without blame, pressure, or judgement. My role is to provide steady, experienced support while you work through what matters most to you.

My private and peaceful space in McCrae offers a calm setting for couples on the Mornington Peninsula and in Melbourne who are seeking professional, in-person couples counselling.

For couples wanting deeper focus and momentum, my Couples Counselling Retreat offers the chance to step away from daily pressures and spend dedicated time repairing and strengthening your relationship.

If flexibility matters more right now, Online Couples Counselling allows busy couples and parents to access meaningful support from the comfort of home.

You’re welcome to scroll down to explore the ways I work, along with tools and resources designed to support you and your partner as you strengthen your relationship.

If you’re considering couples counselling, you’re welcome to get in touch for a free short chat. We can talk through what’s been happening for you, and if it feels like a good fit, book a 90-minute initial consultation.

That first session is often a welcome relief — a calm, supportive space where you both feel heard, gain clarity, and take the first step toward healthier relationship repair.

What Brings Couples Here

Most couples get in touch when things feel like they’re sliding away in the wrong direction, and they’re not sure how to turn it around on their own.

When emotions are heavy, tension is thick, communication keeps breaking down, or trust has been shaken, such as with betrayal or infidelity, reaching out for support can be a wise next step.

Sometimes mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, or feeling overwhelmed can also be part of what’s making things harder between you.

You might be stuck in recurring arguments, walking on eggshells, or avoiding certain topics just to keep the peace.

And if trust has been broken, it’s normal to feel heartbroken, distant, and unsure whether things can ever be repaired, especially when hurt and resentment are building beneath the surface.

If any of this feels familiar, you’re in the right place. This is the kind of work I help couples with every day, and there are a few different ways we can begin, depending on what you need right now.

Below are the main options, along with more detail on how couples counselling can help.

Attending Jacqueline Hogan's "Save Our Marriage" retreat was a truly transformative experience for my partner and me. We were at a critical point in our relationship, but Jacqueline's compassionate and insightful approach provided us with the tools and perspective we needed to reconnect. She created a safe space for open communication, allowing us to address our challenges and rediscover the love that brought us together. We left the retreat feeling more connected and with a clear path forward. I highly recommend this retreat to any couple looking to strengthen their relationship and create a marriage 2.0!

My partner and I were in a very dark place before we met Jacqui, I was not confident we could find a way back. I’m so grateful to have found Jacqui. With her support, professionalism and the arsenal of tools she has provided for us, our relationship is now better than it has been for a decade.

I am so glad that we chose Jacqueline to be our relationship counsellor. Just when it seemed to my wife and I that there was no way forward together, thankfully one of the few things that we agreed upon was choosing Jacqueline from all of the counselling services that we could see online. The Save My Marriage program did exactly that for us. We are communicating like we never had in the past, and we have restored intimacy, love, and trust to our relationship. I feel we are on solid foundations now, and we have both learned to forgive, and how to become better partners.

Jacqueline was highly professional, experienced, caring, positive and knowledgeable in my experience. She provided easy to follow tools and advice to both of us for communicating in a better way to improve our relationship, and space to do so while being considerate of our emotional well-being too. It feels scary and emotional at times but also worth doing the work, I valued her honesty and intent on a good outcome, and trust in her abilities to help couples during difficult times in their relationship.

I would highly recommend Jacqui. Her knowledge and tools helped us mend and save our marriage when we were stuck and thought there was little hope of recovering. We committed to her step by step program that we worked through together; Which taught us to communicate and work through our issues.

We came in feeling hopeless and preparing for divorce and left with hope.

I went off the tracks a few times and nearly crashed but with the tools provided in the program, I used those to avoid crashing and steered my way back onto the track.

By the 12th appointment it was really clear why Jacqui structures the program the way she has. We did the majority of our sessions via Zoom calls, this worked really well for us with young kids and having a distance to travel to get to Bendigo. The program is very confronting and you learn a lot about yourself and your partner, but Jacqui is very supportive and adds cheeky humour to lighten the mood along the way. Our marriage is still not perfect, but we are getting there and the tools and techniques we learnt throughout the program will be with us for life. For this, I thank you Jacqui and would recommend you to anyone of any age.

A DClient Feedback
"Thank goodness I found you. You have done more for me than any counsellor I’ve ever been to before."
A FClient Feedback
"Our communication has been great! Conversations have been enjoyable and [husband] is really enjoying the deep breathing exercises and meditation."
ConfidentialClient Feedback
"I think we are making progress as we have talked a lot more openly about this recent issue and moved on a lot quicker than we would have in the past. I had a lot of self awareness around my responses and reactions and have not punished him for the mistake. I’m feeling much better this morning."
